Thorpe St Andrew School and Sixth Form is a large comprehensive school which is part of Broad Horizon Education Trust.
Our Sixth Form operates an open access where each individual can find a pathway that suits their needs reflecting our moto “Excellence for All”.

e have 210 Year 12 students and 170 Year 13 students on roll this academic year.
W
e offer a wide range of Level 3 academic subjects as well as a range of Technical Levels and General Applied subjects.
Some students choose to study four A Levels in Year 12, dropping to three subjects at the end of Year 12.
Following the A Level reform, we only enter students at the end of Year 12 for the public examinations if:
When Year 12 students are not taking a public examination at the end of the year, they sit an “End of Year Examination” in July of Year 12 to ensure good progression and inform UCAS Predicted Grades.
We are very proud to be one of the very few schools which was chosen to pilot the T Levels, which we offer in Education and Early Years and Management and Administration. Being a pilot school means that we are ahead of the game and have now developed an expert team of T Level teachers
.
Our curriculum also offers a wide range of enrichment courses. Students have to carry out one enrichment course in Year 12 only.
Year 12 students take part in our Academic Coaching Programme, where they devote one hour a week of their time in one of their subject choices, to help students in the lower school, giving back to our local community.

inally, all students are encouraged to take part in Work Experience. We are pleased that 60% of our students managed to secure a face-to-face placement this year, despite many businesses still operating hybrid working models.
