The Sixth Form
has various elements of support to ensure all students are able to
achieve the best academic success on their chosen course(s). This
support is offered in the following ways:

Tutor
Each student will be part of a tutor
group where this tutor is dedicated to supporting students in developing
their future path and ways to achieve this. They are also the first
contact for parents should they have concerns surrounding student’s
overall achievement and future plans such as university applications.
Tutors will meet with students on weekly basis as a group, this forms
part of their timetable.
Students will also be mentored by
their tutor on a one-on-one basis once every half term to discuss how
they are progressing and help resolve and issues students may be
experiencing.  Upper Sixth students will move to a
different tutor who will be a specialist in the field the student wishes
to progress. It is important students get to know their tutor well as
they will be providing students with a personal reference either for
UCAS purposes or any other kind of application.

Each student will have a personal Subject Mentor in every subject they study who will meet students on a one-to-one basis regularly to ensure progress is made in the Sixth Form. The Mentor will discuss students Working at Grades (WAGs) against their Target Grades (TGs), set short and long term targets and review them at the next meeting. The Mentor is also the person who parents will meet at the Parent/Carer Consultation Evenings, who will write reports and provide a subject reference for either UCAS purposes or any other kind of application.

The Head of Lower and Upper Sixth students are on hand
to support parents and students alongside Personal Development Tutors
and Subject Mentors.  Should there be ongoing concerns in regards to
students work or further support needed they will be able to help
provide this.  They are specialists in their dedicated year group and
are able to offer advice and support as and when needed.

Student guidance in regards to pastoral support is available to students and parents whenever needed. This is offered alongside all other areas of support mentioned above and is there to help support students and families. Ongoing career guidance where students can have access to our dedicated Careers Co-ordinator who is on hand to offer individual meetings with students.
