Year Groups

Year 7

I would like to welcome you to Thorpe St Andrew School and Sixth form, and welcome to year 7. I will take this opportunity to introduce myself, Miss Balmayer, as your Head of Year 7.

I have been teaching PE for 5 years, as well as teaching Business Studies, French and Health and Social Care, I have a keen interest in dance and aesthetic sports, but am happy to give most sports a go and spend most of my free time playing sport.

Miss Balmayer

I am taking on the role of Head of Year as of September 2024 and look forward to welcoming you all to a vibrant and energetic school. Within the role of Head of Year I will be able to provide pastoral support alongside a dedicated and experienced team who all share the same vision of inspiring you to achieve in a safe and valued community, where we can celebrate one another, and develop as strong, confident individuals.

Students are encouraged to embrace the schools core values or Aspire, Respect and Engage, these will be implemented throughout the student’s time at school, during assemblies, form time activities, and with continuous support from form tutors, BEST team and subject teachers.

I am committed to the students transition from Primary to Secondary School, and supporting their emotional, educational, and behavioural growth in their time at Thorpe St Andrew. Realising their individual potential and aspirations will be a pivotal part of my role, as well as encouraging them to interact with one another and the wider community, leading them to be independent and the best versions of themselves.
